Animal Well

Animal Well is a pixel-art exploration and puzzle game made by solo developer Billy Basso through his studio Shared Memory, and published by Bigmode. Players hatch from a flower and explore a dense, interconnected labyrinth, gradually filling in the map, lighting candles for safety and collecting items that each have several uses. The focus is on tension, secrets and clever use of the environment rather than combat, and many layers of hidden puzzles sit beneath the main adventure.

The game launched on 9 May 2024 for PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC, and an Xbox Series X|S version followed on 17 October 2024.
