PlayStation 5

Sony's current home console, launched in November 2020. It pairs a custom AMD processor and graphics chip with a very fast SSD, which cuts loading times and lets developers stream large worlds quickly. The DualSense controller adds haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that push back under your fingers. Sony has since released a slimmer redesign and the PS5 Pro, which adds stronger graphics hardware for higher-resolution play. Most PS4 games run on PS5, and the console is home to Sony's own studios, including Insomniac, Naughty Dog and Santa Monica Studio.
