Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a new entry in Capcom's Onimusha series of dark fantasy sword-fighting games. It is set in Edo-period Kyoto, which has been swallowed by malevolent clouds of Malice. The hero is Miyamoto Musashi, a young samurai whose likeness is based on the late film star Toshiro Mifune. Armed with the Oni Gauntlet, he fights the Genma, demons from the underworld, and absorbs their souls to grow stronger while searching for his own reason to fight. Combat centres on intense, close-range swordplay. The game released on 4 September 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
