Silent Hill: The Short Message
Silent Hill: The Short Message is a short, free first-person horror game for PS5, made by Konami with Japanese developer HexaDrive. Players control Anita, a young woman in present-day Germany, who explores an abandoned building known as The Villa while trying to find out what happened to her friend.
Konami described the project as an experiment for the series, intended to be free from the outset so that as many people as possible could play it. Its psychological horror draws on how young people communicate through phones and social media, including the way online comments can pile up into overwhelming abuse. The game was released on 31 January 2024 as a free download on PlayStation 5.
