Sony's eighth-generation home console, launched in November 2013. It went on to become one of the best-selling consoles of all time, with later Slim and Pro models, and it defined a generation of PlayStation exclusives such as The Last of Us Part II, God of War (2018), Marvel's Spider-Man and Bloodborne. Many new releases still ship on PS4 alongside PS5, and most of its library is playable on PS5 through backward compatibility.
